He Has Risen

The bunnies and chicks are fun, but it is Jesus' atonement for my sins and His conquering of death that makes me celebrate!  He HAS Risen!!

I KNOW that my Redeember Lives!

I've used this object lesson to teach youth of all ages the Easter story.  They always enjoy it!

No we've never gone to an Easter parade and my daughter has only had one Easter bonnet in her whole life, but we do go to church every Sunday and we like to look extra special on Easter.  Since I became the mother of boy & girl twins I always like us to coordinate.  Love this bowtie and hairbow combo!

Become as a Little Child

Adorable bunny hand print.

With matching carrot foot print.

We love watching It's The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown every year.  This year we added a couple of Rankin-Bass classic specials to our collection:  The Easter Bunny Is Comin' To Town and The First Easter Rabbit.  We also added a modern tale that we discovered at Christmas that also works at Easter:  Rise Of The Guardians.

Our Little People Easter set is another favorite by all.

Easter Feaster

Growing up we always had ham for Easter, turkey for Thanksgiving, and both for Christmas.  I don't feel guilty eating turkey, but ham is so decadent and delicious!  Easter is remembering Him that frees us from our guilt.

My husband and I had a little laugh at serving "funeral" potatoes at Easter.  They are a Mormon favorite, but if you eat them too often they might be served at your funeral!

With all the bunnies around one should include glazed carrots on the menu!

With all those dyed Easter eggs on hand, turn them into Deviled eggs.  Another funny name for the Easter menu, ha.

All the little bunnies will love some divine carrot cake to top the meal off with!

(*I mean no disrespect to my Savior with this post.  Sometimes my funny bone just gets tickled.  I hope Jesus has a sense of humor too, I think He is does.  I love Him so and am so grateful to celebrate Easter and remember all He has done for me!)

Baskets

I remember making these cupcakes with my Grandma when I was a little girl!

Prefer cookies to cupcakes?  No problem!

Peeps are a must when filling an Easter basket.  These Peeps on a stick are just darling.

Jelly Beans, Chocolate Bunnies, and Chocolate Eggs are also a must!  I love these because you can use any flavor of pudding & pie filling for the centers and any flavor of chocolate coating.  Beautiful and delish!

Have your kids go on a hunt for their baskets/eggs.  Have them discover bunny prints along the way!

Egg your neighbors!  With plastic candy-filled eggs of course, then pin this cute sign on their door.  Leave one of the eggs empty symbolic of Jesus' empty tomb!

Eggs

We always follow the tradition of dyeing Easter eggs.  I love this new take on the classic- Ombre Eggs!

These hand-painted eggs are gorgeous!  I think I want to try this!

Googly eyes and a Sharpie, so simple and cute!

I was originally going to post the embroidery floss eggs you make with balloons here.  However, after making (or attempting to make them) with my Activity Day girls at church I decided I'd rather make some salt dough eggs next time!

Chicks

I love Nutter Butters and they are just too cute dressed up as Easter Chicks!

Darling kids craft from paper plates.

This bunny craft is also so cute.  I'm thinking of using yellow cups to make a little chick companion!

Carrots

These were a big hit in my kids' Easter baskets this year!  Who can refuse Cheetos?

I always love chocolate covered strawberries!

Chicken salad wrapped in "orange" crescent rolls, yum!

So cute for the dinner table.

Tails

Bunny tails are yummy!  Especially when they're made from:
Doughnut holes:

Pancakes:

Orange rolls:

Nilla Wafers:

Heads

These bunny heads are almost too cute to eat, almost!
Dipped oreos from

Oreo truffles from

April = Bunnies!

So I know Easter was in March this year, but in the 38 Easters I've been alive it has only been in March 9 times.  The other 29 times it was in April.  I wish it always could be in April.  Let's make it official the 3rd Sunday of every April from now on, ha ha!
These framed bunnies are so colorful and cheery!  Love their little pom pom tails too!

Want these for my monthly mantel trio!

Monthly Subway Art.

I love banners, and these eggs made out of paint chips are the cutest!

(*Other April themes could be April Fool's Day or Earth Day.)

Eating Green

This post is not about healthy, environmentally-friendly eating (I try to do that on all the non-celebratory days).  This is about enjoying yummy food that happens to be green!
Green-velvet & cheesecake!
(You could even wrap coins in foil and bake inside the cake layer to really make it a "green" cake, ha ha!)

Mint and chocolate is my usual go-to St. Patty's treat.  These thin-mint truffles look like a delicious take on the popular flavor combo!

Key-lime cupcakes.

This pistachio dessert looks so decadent!

This yummy punch is a concoction of white (green) grape juice, pineapple juice, lemonade, lime popsicles, and green apple "shamrock" slices!

Rainbow Cake

I am SO going to make a rainbow cake someday!

Love these cupcakes with rainbow frosting.

And this rainbow of cupcakes too!

Rainbows out of M&M's are also yummy.

Lucky Charms aren't bad either!  Some other rainbow cereals to experiment with:  Froot Loops, Fruity Pebbles, Trix...
